On 29th December 2016, the High School Affiliated to Xi’an Jiaotong University held a grand graduation ceremony for the 2016 UF graduates. Principal WANG Peidong, Vice Principal LIU Jun, Directors from Qujiang and Xingqing campuses, teachers from the International Schools, parents and the students all attended the ceremony.
Upon entry into the auditorium, a beautiful hall decorated with colorful balloons by our international school teachers and students could be seen. The graduation ceremony began with an impassioned rendition of the school anthem, followed by a speech from Vice Principal Mr. Liu Jun. On behalf of the school, she expressed her warmest congratulations to the 2016 UFS graduates who successfully completed the program and entered into first-class international universities. At the same time, she expressed her hope and encouragement that the graduates would carry forward the High School Affiliated to Xi’an Jiaotong University school spirit and develop into people with positive attitudes, have the courage to successfully navigate the world outside of school.
Afterwards, Nick spoke on behalf of the UFS foreign teachers, passing on his hopes and wishes with fluent English and Chinese, that won tremendous applause. Yu Xiaoyu’s father spoke on behalf of the graduates’ parents and won strong support with his sincere and moving speech as well.
Parents donated a
large number of exquisite books to the High School Affiliated to Xi’an Jiaotong University to improve
the reading atmosphere of the International School. Ms Xu Jaihui, a champion of
the UFS science stream in China, gave a speech and expressed her thanks on
behalf of the student body.
Principal WANG
Peidong presented the certificate of Honor to the thirteen UFS graduates who
obtained GPA scores greater than 9.0, whilst also presenting Graduate
Certificates to all of the 2016 graduates. Following the awarding of the
certificates, the ceremony came to an end.
The UFS international
students completed the ceremony with a number of performances such as playing instruments,
singing songs, dancing and reading English poetry. We wish all 2016 UFS
graduates a bright future and hope they can aspire to “dream high”.
