Top No.1 in China! Jiangning Campus Won an Outstanding Award in the Robot Competition (High School Group)

The Sixth National Education Robot Competition was completed successfully. It was sponsored and co-organized by the Chinese Society of Artificial Intelligence, the Ministry of Education Machinery Teaching Committee and the Huazhong University of Science and Technology. The representative team“Terminator”from the High School Affiliated to Nanjing Normal University, Jiangning Campus won an outstanding award in the high school group project Competition named "SMART HANDLING”. The teammates are LUO Hongyifrom from Grade 3 and ZHU Jianyue and WEI Zixiang from Grade2.

Competition Overview

On November 12th, more than one hundred representative teams from all over the country attended the grand opening ceremony.

Representative teams from Qinghua University and Beijing Normal University took part in this competition

After the opening ceremony, the representative teams competed in different groups. The representative team“Terminator”from the High School Affiliated to Nanjing Normal University, Jiangning Campus took part in the project competition ‘SMART HANDLING’. The competitors were required to randomly choose a question and design a computer program; quickly assemble the robots; and practice shooting. It was extremely difficult for competitors, especially in the aspects of designing a moving track, problem solving, and model programming in a given amount of time. Points were then awarded by judges based on shooting ability and time taken to complete all tasks. The “Terminator”team won first prize with outstanding achievements through successful completion of these tasks and cooperation between team members. The judges were impressed by their clear minds, smooth model and stable program and their remarkable performance in this competition shows the high quality of students at the High School Affiliated to Nanjing Normal University, Jiangning Campus and the amazing exploration into artificial intelligence.

Competition Introduction

The China Education Robot Competition is a special event which is organized by the Ministry of Education Machinery Teaching Committee. It aims to enhance the exploration and practice in the field of artificial intelligence for different ages. It has been held six times previously and more than two hundreds universities and middle schools take part in this competition, including Qinghua University, Zhejiang University, and Nanjing University.
