The International Course Center of High School Affiliated to Xi'an Jiaotong University Winter 2017 Exchange on Social Activities

On February 24th 2017, during the winter vacation, all students from the International Course Centre of the High School Affiliated to Xi’an Jiaotong University attended a meeting at the Qujiang campus. The aim of the meeting was to exchange experiences gained during social activities including those undertaken both at home and abroad such as commercial and academic competitions and domestic and international volunteering.

Gao Zhenqian (sophomore) from the Sino-American Program shared his experiences at the National High School Commercial Competition.

Shi Chongkai (sophomore) from the Sino-American Program, shared his experiences at USAD.

United States Academic Decathlon is the only annual high school academic competition organized by the non-profit United States Academic Decathlon Association (USAD). The competition consists of seven multiple choice tests (arts, economics, literature, mathematics, music, science, and social sciences), two performance events, and an essay. Each year, there is a specific topic and students are required to learn the materials which the committee assigns.

Dailing and Wang Yunyue shared their volunteer experiences from the Sichuan Giant Panda Base.

Chen Shiyu (junior) from the Sino-American Program shared her experiences regarding her trip to Nepal to protect elephants.

By participating in these after-school activities, students gained different experiences which will undoubtedly become precious moments in their life. These experiences not only assist with university applications, but also develop the maturity of participants. As a consequence, they will lay a solid foundation for future overseas study!
